REPLAY. NEW GAME+

Welcome to the Halogen newsletter! I will be sharing updates about events and programs, stories, articles, and more; nothing less, nothing more.

As some of you know, I recently moved to Seattle. I am just getting settled and am in the last stretch of unpacking. It felt incredible to release and let go of, both physically and emotionally, everything that was accrued and conjured over the past 3 years. Before leaving my apartment in Bellingham for the final time, I performed a cleansing ritual - something I've been doing since high school (so for about 11 years). I won't go through the full ritual, but this time I found myself really focused on saying out loud that whatever negative spirits, energy, or patterns in the apartment that came from me doubting myself in my work were absolutely not welcome to follow me. That brings me to the title of the newsletter - REPLAY. NEW GAME+

I play a lot of video games and some games, after you finish, have the option to replay the game in the "new game+" mode. You get to keep all the skills, tools, mods, knowledge, etc that you acquired and built in the first playthrough. You get to start fresh and explore different ways of playing the game. That's how I feel this chapter of my life and the move to Seattle is like. I have all the skills, tools, knowledge, connections, and momentum I acquired in the last 3 years - the first playthrough. I'm still on the same map and the same open world, just exploring a different route with a different perspective and energy. And for that, I am nothing less than blessed.

So I encourage you to explore your own new game+ in whatever capacity feels best for you. And if you're ever in Seattle and want to grab coffee, lunch, dinner, or anything, let me know!

Learning Sessions

Last month I hosted the first Learning Session to introduce Halogen and the work. All I can say is that my soul was very nourished that morning. I gave a presentation, read the introduction to my book, and had some work samples to view.

Importantly, it was a space for loving vulnerability and reflexiveness. One of the people who attended shared with me that they left the session curious and thinking differently and deeply. And that was the best feedback I could hear. That is the point of this work - to tap into curiosity, empathy, and critical reflection. I will be doing these learning sessions for the entire summer! There are 2 coming up in June in Washington.

Bonus

I don't remember how old I was in this photo, but I suspect somewhere in the 2-4 range. However, in this stage of my life and this playthrough, I feel that same sense of curiosity in my eyes again. We're coming full circle.
In gratitude,
Remy

Stay curious.

Approach empathy as a verb. Tap into your humanness. Love deeply. Release all that no longer serves you. That mountain you're carrying, you were only meant to climb. Create more life givers that tether to the soul.
