Siblings and Neighbors is Halogen's direct service program.

Halogen creates original resources such as books, films, and documentaries by working directly with Black and Brown trans communities to uplift, highlight, and support the shared and various lived experiences of the individuals. These resources go to Halogen’s partners for free which consist of non-profits, community centers, and therapist offices that serve Black and Brown trans communities.

Program Focuses

To provide a space where Black and Brown trans individuals can honor themselves, reimagine and nourish the relationship with the self, and explore rawness and sweeping genuineness of their soul.

To center advocacy in a thoughtful, digestible, and growth-focused practice that prioritizes the safety and empowerment of Black and Brown trans communities.

To start the conversation about how suicide prevention is not a late stage crisis management tool - it is whole self engagement in all parts of someone’s daily life.

To get people thinking differently, deeply, and critically about suicide, mental health, and nuances and intersectionality of Black and Brown trans communities.

New Book

Gravity is a Concentration of Understandings

___

A new collection of moments that make up a lifetime of a person through viewing the soul.

At the broadest level, trans is about where the soul needs to occupy to live the most sustainable, healthy, engaging, fulfilling, and sense of self focused life.

Gravity is a Concentration of Understandings is an all-encompassing leap into the difference between meeting one’s soul versus meeting their physical body to start the deeper conversation of intersectionality and suicide awareness in Black and Brown trans communities. People from Black and Brown cultures from all over the world have been photographed and interviewed about how they view and honor their soul. The book features the transcripts of the interviews as well as Styrk’s documentation of his own suicide prevention journey through writing the book. This book is about putting your hands upon a story and letting it make new of your fingerprints.
