I'm now offering free 1-hour photoshoots for Black and Brown trans and gender diverse folks in Seattle and surrounding areas. This is a space for folks to love on themselves, celebrate anniversaries, and bring their vision to life. This will be an ongoing offering for as long as sustainably possible. Since launching this program last November, I've done over 30 sessions!

I would describe the experience as transformative. It's like sharing + creating something really vulnerable + mostly only seeing one side until it's complete. When those things go really well you can really see everything come alive. That takes a lot of trust + communication. I'm really thankful for my experiences. I'm honored to have transformed during this process. Also very grateful to see myself through the HALOGEN lens. - [Inoli]

I had a wonderful experience. I felt very relaxed and just seen from the very first moment. I could pay attention to how to pose or how to smile because for once I wasn’t in my head about whether I would be seen as myself. A delightful and affirming experience, plus I got some great photos out of it! :)

I've been doing ongoing work with UW Medicine's Network of Underrepresented Residents and Fellows, particularly their Black Health Justice Pathway, for a couple months now. Back in October, I gave a presentation in collaboration with Dr. Peter Asante, MD to UW Med Residents about the interactions of Black trans health - which lead to Dr. Asante recommending me for an open mic night in February with more of the UW Med community (pictured above).

I was back at WWU in Bellingham for LGBTQ+ Western and the Black Student Coalition to photograph students as part of their Black History Month programming. This is another partnership I always have blast collaborating with.

Through everything, the ways I've been trying to decompress are biking and continuing to cook. Additionally, for my mental health, this newsletter will be moving to every other month!

Approach empathy as a verb. Tap into your humanness. Love deeply. Release all that no longer serves you. That mountain you're carrying, you were only meant to climb. Create more life givers that tether to the soul.
